The Basics
![]()
Robo Rally is a board game where the objective of the game is to program your robot to get around the map to specific points without getting destroyed. The game has many different boards you can play with. Each round you will receive 10 cards that have different actions, like move forward 1, or turn right, you will place five of these cards face down. All players reveal one card at a time and do that action, but other robots can push you, and shoot you. At the end of every movement if you are looking at another robot you will shoot them. For every time someone gets shot they will receive one less card when programming their robot. However, if you ever get a lot of hits to the point where you don’t get enough cards to program your robot, you can power down, which gets rid of all your hits but one, but you skip the next turn. In addition, you start the game with 3 lives, you can loose lives by falling off the map, or by getting shot 10 times, but then you loose all your hits.
Obstacles On The Board
The different boards have many different obstacles on them, here is a list of most of them:
-Conveyor belts move you in the direction the arrow is pointing for the number of spaces equal to the number arrows on the conveyor belt.
-Holes make you loose a life if you end a move on that square.
-Walls are barriers you can not move through or shoot through.
-Hammers get rid of one of your hits if you end a round on that square.
-Wrenches give you an ability card that have different advantages if you end a round on that square.
-Gears turn you one in the direction they point if you end a move on the square.
-Pushers move you one space away from them if you end your move on that square and it is the specified move.
-Lazers give you one hit if you end your move in the square, just like when robots shoot you.
